Headquartered in Greenwich, CT, Antares Real Estate is a vertically integrated, leading real estate development firm. Antares was established in 1996 by Joseph P. Beninati and James P. Cabrera, two individuals with thorough real estate experience and a friendship that started over 25 years ago. The vast capabilities of Antares, which includes development, construction management & services, property management & master brokerage services, and merchant banking/acquisition finance, reflect the operating and finance backgrounds of the principals.
After growing and running an engineering firm, which Inc. Magazine named the 9th fastest growing firm in the United States in 2002, Joe and Jim turned their attention solely towards Antares. The company's reputation was solidified after its first few commercial acquisitions, including Pickwick Plaza in Greenwich, largely regarded the nation's premier suburban office complex due to Antares' capital renovations and management style. Since then, Antares has assembled a diverse portfolio throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties, comprised of residential, commercial, hospitality, and retail properties. Recently, Antares has acquired some of the largest deals in the country, including 82 acres of land on the Stamford, CT waterfront in 2005. Current plans involve 6 million square-feet of residential, office, hotel, and entertainment development; the firm is literally master-planning a new "City on the Water." Antares also closed the largest real estate acquisition in Connecticut's history in February 2006 with the purchase of 462 rental apartments on 50 acres in Greenwich.
The current lines of business that service the $4.5 billion of assets and projects include residential development, construction & sales, mixed-use development, commercial property & asset management, and passive investments in real estate related businesses.
